Plant construction courses — your questions
It is operator training and testing for construction plant — excavators, dumpers, rollers, telehandlers, MEWPs and forklifts. You learn to operate the machine safely and competently, then take a theory and practical test. Pass, and you hold a card that proves it to any site you turn up on.
They are two separate accreditation schemes. NPORS is flexible, quick to arrange and can be issued carrying the CSCS logo. CPCS is specified by name on many larger contractor sites. We deliver both and will tell you honestly which one your site actually requires before you book.
Yes, and most employers prefer it. Training on your own machines in your own conditions loses the least production time and produces better operators. If a live site is not practical you can come to our Eastleigh facility instead.
You complete the Level 2 NVQ in plant operations for your category while the red trained-operator card is still valid. The NVQ is assessed around your normal work on site, so there is very little classroom time involved.
Yes. We run novice routes as well as experienced-worker and refresher routes. Novice courses run over more days because you are building genuine operating hours, and we will set out exactly what that means before you commit.
For most categories we can offer dates within a couple of weeks, and often faster for single candidates or urgent renewals. Call with your deadline and we will tell you straight away whether we can meet it.
Yes, and it works out cheaper per head. We build in-house courses around your plant, your site and your shift pattern, including early starts and weekends where that keeps production moving.
